Safety Coordinator - Night Shift

PURPOSE AND GENERAL SUMMARY:
Pilgrim’s is looking for a Safety Coordinator to provide assistance to the safety and health efforts of the Operation as directed by the Complex Safety Manager and Safety Specialist This role will be based in at our processing plant in Cold Spring, MN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; assessing new equipment and procedures; investigating violations
- Complies with Federal, State and Local safety regulations
- Promotes safe work performance
- Enforces safety policies by conducting audits and counseling employees
- Provide safety training to team members
- Promotes a safe environment
- Maintains safety information database
- Contributes to safety team projects and activities
- Assists the Complex Safety Manager maintain and provide Management, Supervisors and employees with information on all government safety regulations and changes to procedures that have an impact on our environment and their jobs
- Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Knowledge of general safety policies and procedures in addition to plant processes preferred
- Must be able to spend the majority of work schedule in the production area
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
- Must be able to work independently
- Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

- Base salary range of $ 19-22/hr; and
