Position: HR Technician or HR Generalist
Location: Onsite. Juneau, AK.
Hours: Full-time, hourly, overtime may occasionally be required.
Salary: HR Technician starting minimum salary - $50,000/yr; HR Generalist starting minimum salary - $60,000/yr.
The Position:
Alaskan Brewing Company is searching for an HR professional to work collaboratively with the Director of Business Operations to oversee the day-to-day functions of the Human Resource department.

Depending on experience, job duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the new hire process including posting of ads, interview coordination and reference checks.
- Conduct & oversee new hire onboarding including file set up, initial new hire meeting, brewery onboard schedule, and HR regulatory filings.
- Accurately process payroll including working with managers on timesheet issues, processing salary adjustments and payroll deductions.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits including new hire enrollment and benefit welcome meetings.
- Assists with employee performance management by working with supervisors on timely employee reviews and in collaboration with the Director of Business Operations on addressing supervisor’s employee performance concerns.
- Manage employee exits including exit paperwork and coordination of exit interviews.
- Track training certification and notify of employees/supervisors for upcoming training needs.
- Assist with employee communications including managing digital bulletin board and providing items for employee newsletter.
- May assist with development and presentation of employee and supervisor training.
- Maintain accurate personnel files using appropriate technology.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities and events.
- Assist with other HR or Administration duties as needed.
Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, this person works as an integral part of the Alaskan Brewing team. Special skills and knowledge needed to be successful in this position include:
- Prior HR and payroll experience or education desired.
- HR degree or certification beneficial, not required.
- Ability to act with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal relationship building.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office products.
- Experience with HRIS beneficial.
