Summary of responsibilities:
The Coordinator, Social Media is responsible to support the development of social media content creation and engagement across various web platforms that align with CATSA’s communications and digital strategies. They are responsible to ensure content is current and accurate and to collaborate closely with team members to support the development of effective social media strategies. The Coordinator, Social Media performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Graduation from a recognized university or college with specialization in Digital Marketing, Digital Communications, Public Relations Communications, Marketing or related field relevant to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience as social media coordinator or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience with scheduled publishing, optimization, copy writing, user engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling content tailored for different platforms and target audiences.
- Proficiency in using social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
- Media‐savvy and knowledgeable about latest social trends and news.
This position is best suited to individuals with the following skills and abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to tailor communication to suit the audience.
- Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.
- Strong technical knowledge of social media and digital communication, including, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, and Pinterest.
- Solid time management skills and ability to work under pressure while producing quality results.
- Creative and conceptual thinker. Possesses an eye for aesthetic curation and cohesive visual and written storytelling.
- Demonstrated experience with scheduled publishing, optimization, copy writing and user engagement.
- Solid planning and problem solving. Strong organization, follow-through and time management skills
- Ability to work with confidential information.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in the Windows Office environment, including 365, Outlook and Teams.
Valuable skills include:
- Knowledge of CATSA’s mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation or regulation impacting CATSA’s communications (Government of Canada’s Policy on Communications and Federal Identity, Official Languages Act, W3C/WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards).
- Basic experience of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign).
- Experience with photography / videography / audio is an asset.
Specific work requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as required;
- Language Profile: CCBB;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
