About Soldier Hollow
Soldier Hollow Nordic Center is home to a state-of-the-art biathlon range that was used for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The facility also features a 31-kilometer trail system for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, as well as mountain biking and hiking in the summer. It is a dynamic multi-use facility focused on developing and growing participation in winter sports in Utah. As a part of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, our mission is to cultivate champions in sport and in life, deliver experiences that inspire communities, and celebrate our Olympic Legacy for years to come.
About the role
As a Café Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while taking orders and serving café guests food and beverages in a friendly and positive manner.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders.
- Answer questions about the menu and make recommendations.
- Handle special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Order Preparation:
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages.
- Assemble and serve food items such as pastries, sandwiches, and salads.
- Ensure orders are accurate and presented neatly.
- Payment Handling:
- Process transactions using point-of-sale system.
- Handle credit/debit card payments and issue receipts.
- Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Keep the counter area clean and organized.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure proper food safety practices.
- Adhering to Policies:
- Follow health and safety regulations.
- Comply with café policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food items.
All other job responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate requirements
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Food service experience preferred.
- All employees must possess a food handler’s permit or the ability to obtain one shortly after employment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing manner with the public.
- Initiative, cleanliness, and organizational skills.
- Flexible work schedule – must be available to workdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work outdoors in all temperature/weather extremes.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to sit and stand on feet for extended time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing – to converse with others in a normal conversation.
- Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting.
