The Refugee Resettlement Department assists refugees in Houston to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to reach self-sufficiency and live with dignity.
The Manager, Case Management, will provide oversight for the long-term case management programs within the Refugee Service Department. The Manager is responsible for overseeing program implementation and ensuring the proper administration of department resources in a way that leads to successful program outcomes. The successful candidate will effectively represent the Refugee Service Department in the community, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and possess an in-depth understanding of the Refugee Resettlement process and its associated programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Oversee the implementation of case management and employment programs in alignment with agency mission and funder requirements.
- Responsible for the enhancement of the Refugee Service department by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.
- Conduct outreach and build partnerships with local health and mental health service providers to support trauma-affected refugees.
- Oversee the development and success of a trauma-informed case management program, including collaboration with a counseling team, program evaluation, and building a network of providers in Houston that will support the goals of a mental health case management program.
- Assure that quarterly reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner to funders as well as inter-agency reports.
- Develop and implement ongoing quality improvements for the daily program operations.
- Provide supervision, support, and consultation to program staff, ensuring best practices and compliance. Assist with complex cases and ensure adherence to agency guidelines, including incident reporting.
- Promote program awareness by distributing informational materials to community partners, prospective clients, and locations where prospective clients may congregate to promote community knowledge and interest, resulting in an acceptable level of program applications.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and client interactions. Prepare regular reports on outreach outcomes and challenges for program management and funders.
- Participate in grant writing and funding initiatives to support program growth and sustainability.
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field
- Four (4) years of experience in social service or related setting
- Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management role
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of leadership principles and best practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence others
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Experience with applicable software e.g. MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)
