About The Opportunity

Supervises and optimizes production execution for Linerboard presses. Participates in continuous improvement activities to improve all areas of production.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position.   The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

  • Provide a safe working environment by promoting safe work habits and enforcing work and safety rules. 

  • Provide supervision to production staff to optimize production execution on the Linerboard presses.  This to be done through almost complete workday spent on manufacturing floor with production teams.

  • Responsible for team execution of all required paperwork, quality checks, and any other production requirements.

  • Responsible for planning and efficient execution of all press changeovers and adherence to standard operating procedures.

  • Participate in required disciplinary measures for Linerboard presses staff.

  • Participate in the annual performance review process for Linerboard presses staff.

  • Lead execution of required training for the Linerboard presses staff.

  • Execute required preventative maintenance and 5s tasks in the Linerboard presses production area.

  • Provide manufacturing support and technical support to the sales effort.

  • Provide hands-on leadership and direction.

  • Manage growth and development of production personnel.

  • Monitor and use productivity goals and waste targets to drive improvements.

  • Work with the Quality Management System to have a consistent quality process.

  • Develop communication throughout the organization.

  • Helps provide coverage for production team leadership in the event of absences or vacations.

  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Other Requirements (education, experience, skills/knowledge)

  • Shift:  2-2-3 (12 hour) rotation

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent manufacturing management experience is required.

  • 5 Years experience in production supervision role in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of flexographic printing products and flexographic printing plant capabilities preferred.

  • Exceptional computer skills and understanding of ERP systems.
