About the role:

The role of the Senior Buyer is to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies essential to the manufacturing process. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships, resolving supply issues, and supporting production continuity through strategic sourcing and inventory management. This role requires strong analytical and negotiation skills and will collaborate daily with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and sales. This is a full-time, on-site position working Monday – Friday at our Brainerd location.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies to support production schedules and operational goals.
• Monitor and resolve supply chain disruptions to ensure continuity in manufacturing operations.
• Analyze market trends and negotiate pricing to inform purchasing strategies and cost forecasting.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure data integrity within the ERP system.
• Optimize inventory levels to reduce excess and obsolete stock while supporting production demands.

Educational Background and Experience:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent Manufacturing Experience.

• 5+ years of progressive purchasing experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a Senior Buyer role

• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and inventory management. 

•  Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Attention to detail with high levels of accuracy is required.

• Experience in wood products or wood manufacturing is preferred.
