The Agriculture Loan Officer will be responsible for developing new agribusiness, underwriting, structuring and closing loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing agricultural portfolio. This position will represent the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs and participate in marketing of the bank’s products.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Meets with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and answer questions about the process
Explains to customers the types of loans and credit options available, including the terms of service
Obtains and compiles copies of loan applicant's credit histories, financial statements, and other applicable financial information
Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and collateral to determine eligibility of granting loans
Submits applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation
Approves loans within specified limits and presents loan applications outside those limits to appropriate authority for approval
Reviews loan documents to ensure they are complete and accurate according to policy
Reviews and updates credit loan files
Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customer’s needs
Monitors existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential issues
Maintains on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge
Works with Cash Management and Trust Department to enhance banking relationship with existing and potential customers
Maintains a presence in the community with civic organizations, events, and high visibility functions
