Pacific Coast Producers, one of the nation’s top food production companies in the U.S., is seeking to fill a Back-Up Wastewater Operator with qualified, to join its team at its Production Facility in The Dalles, OR. PCP is dedicated to investing in its people and fostering a culture of service.
We have two production facilities located in The Dalles, Oregon, specifically dedicated to processing cherries. The facilities are equipped with advanced sorting, pitting, and processing equipment, enabling us to efficiently process large volumes of cherries while maintaining strict quality standards. Our facilities are an important part of the Pacific Northwest's agricultural industry and play a key role in the production of high-quality cherry products for consumers around the world.
Summary
The Wastewater Operator is an entry level position. The Incumbent will perform a variety of skilled tasks related to the basic operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment equipment at wastewater treatment facilities. As a back-up this position will assume all the wastewater Operator responsibilities to cover planned absences as well as could be called in to cover absences as needed. Interested parties will also be eligible to work as a General Laborer in the event the Wastewater staffing is fully covered at General Laborer wages ($16.85).
Primary Duties for Wastewater

- Performs routine tasks related to facilities and grounds upkeep and maintenance.
- Operates wastewater solids dewatering system under the direction of management
- Dose chemicals under the direction of management
- Operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed to move solids bins chemicals and various equipment
- Maintains day-tank chemical supply, monitor, and adjust operation of nutrient and pH control dosing systems under the direction of management.
- Clean waste building operating all pertinent equipment.
- Operate and Monitory plant support systems, including sludge pumps, oilers, aeration equipment, belt filter press, sampling and metering equipment and all associated valves, pumps, motors, and control circuitries.
- Documents findings, efforts and activities in course of duties in a paper log and / or digital log format.
- Notifies management of critical issues in a timely manner.
- Maintains a clean, organized and hazard free work area.
- Adheres to and complies with all state, Federal and Local regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to safe work practices and all operation and maintenance duties.
- Working knowledge of hazards and precautions associated with the operations of wastewater treatment plant.
- Knowledge of and ability to review, understand, and adhere to laws, ordinances and regulations governing wastewater NPDES Permit.
