Mental Health Counseling Intern
The purpose of the Mental Health Counseling Intern is to learn and grow as mental health interns and provide direct clinical care to patients.
We are currently inviting students to apply to our Mental Health Counseling Internship Program. Duties include:
- Actively participate in clinical rounds & social work staff meetings/trainings
- Provide group therapy and participate in family therapeutic meetings, when indicated
- Carry a caseload or shared caseload and facilitate discharge planning, when indicated
- Other responsibilities as needed, to be determined by the Director of Social Work
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and currently enrolled in a graduate program in Mental Health Counseling or related field
- Coursework in psychology, counseling, or social work
Availability Requirements:
- Must be available for a minimum of 600 intern hours
- Must intern at least 3 days per week
- Must be available for trainings on Monday (until 10:00am) and Wednesday (until 10:00am)
Experience and Skills:
- Must have at least 6 months experience in the field of mental health/addiction either through a prior internship or work
- Problem solving skills and flexibility
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
