Event Parking Attendant - Seasonal chez Valet Park of America

Valet Park of America Seeking Directional Attendants in the Amherst Area for Events!

We are booking many special events for the upcoming Fall/ Winter seasons with some of our clients including but not limited to UMass Amherst and more. We seek to build a PT staff team who will work events in the Western MA area. 

Events are already scheduled for the following days with a potential for more to be added:

Umass Amherst Football Season: October 4th, October 12th, October 18th, and November 25th

Umass Amherst Hockey Season: October 4th, October 5th, October 17th, October 18th, October 31st, November 1st, November 6th, November 7th, November 15th, November 22nd, January 2nd, January 9th, January 17th, January 30th, February 7th, February 20th, February 28th, and March 5th.

Umass Amherst Basketball Season: November 3rd, November 8th, November 13th, November 16th, December 3rd, December 6th, December 20th, December 22nd, January 3rd, January 10th, January 20th, January 31st, February 3rd, February 17th, February 21st, and March 3rd

Umass Fine Arts Events: October 2nd, November 9th, November 20th, December 4th, February 12th, February 27th, and May 1st

Umass Amherst Student Move Out:  May 11-May 15th

Umass Amherst Commencement: May15th - May 17th

Most shifts will be on weekends, with some weeknights as well. Some weeks could be 2-3 events per week, some weeks we may not have an event. This is a great fit for someone seeking to supplement their regular FT position or a student. 

Travel will be required in the Western MA area to report to the work location.

Pay: $18/hour 

Other shifts are also available to create a FT role if so desired.

Health/Dental insurance is available after 90 days (50/50 split), paid vacation (for FT staff), and sick time. Room for advancement!

General purpose – The primary purpose of this position is to greet and assist customers, direct them where to park their vehicles, and be a visible representative of the establishment we provide services for. 

Minimum Requirements: – All Directional Attendants are required to:

* Have your own transportation

* Have experience working in customer service

* Must speak fluent English to communicate effectively with customers
 
Physical Demands

* Standing and walking for the duration of your shift
* Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers

Work environment – Outdoors for the duration of the shift. Inclement weather (hot, cold, precipitation, etc) will have a significant impact on the employees' work environment. Shifts will not be canceled due to inclement weather and all employees will be required to attend their scheduled shifts, and maintain a high quality of work despite weather conditions.

* All employees must undergo a criminal records check
* Must be available to work weekends and holidays when necessary
* Must have a neat appearance and a good attitude
* All employees are hired on a 30-day trial period. If during that time the employee does not perform their duties to the satisfaction of management, they can be terminated without cause
