Founded by parents in 1980, Eastside Catholic is governed by an elected board of trustees. As the only seven-year, coeducational Catholic school on the Eastside, we offer a rigorous college preparatory curriculum.


JOB SUMMARY

The Strength & Conditioning Coach leads and develops a comprehensive performance program for our student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for designing and implementing training programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and promote lifelong wellness.


This is a part-time, hourly position during the academic year, with additional opportunities for summer programming.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and supervise strength, conditioning, and mobility programs for student-athletes across all sports.
  • Provide direct coaching during training sessions with a focus on proper technique, safety, and performance progression.
  • Collaborate with sport coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administration to support overall athlete development.
  • Educate student-athletes on strength training, conditioning, recovery, and basic sports nutrition principles.
  • Maintain an inclusive, positive, and disciplined training environment that reflects Eastside Catholic’s mission and values.
  • Track athlete progress and adjust training plans based on performance goals and needs.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are used safely, properly maintained, and prepared for daily use.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
  • CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) through NSCA, or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge and practical experience in sports nutrition and athlete fueling/recovery strategies
  • Previous experience working with high school or collegiate athletes
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • A commitment to practices that promote equity, inclusion and belonging

Schedule & Compensation

  • School Year (Late-August– Mid-June): Monday–Thursday, 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Summer (Mid-June – Late August): Hours TBD based on program needs
  • Compensation: $30 – $35 per hour, based on experience and credentials
