This position is accountable for coordinating, facilitating and expediting all planning, design & construction related activities on assigned projects throughout the FirstHealth System. Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time. The Senior Project Manager will help to achieve management’s goal & objectives.
Performs roles and responsibilities in full accordance with the approved Construction Management Guidelines while keeping projects on schedule, within budget and in accordance with the approved scope. Participates on project team during development to formulate Project Scope, Budget and Schedule. Conducts Preconstruction Risk Assessments (PCRA) and Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) prior to construction start. Ensures appropriate and complete implementation of appropriate infection control precautionary measures and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM). Coordinates with Infection Control, Facilities Management and Safety Management Departments. Documents compliance with Field Observation Reports. Processes and maintains project documentation to include, but not limited to, Approval Letters, Meeting Minutes, Project Scope Manual, Contract Documents and Specifications, Addenda, Change Orders, RFI's, Shop Drawing Submittals, Bulletin Drawings, Applications for Payments, Closeout Documents, As-Built Drawings and routine Correspondence. Conducts regular site visits to inspect for compliance with the contract documents and quality. Maintains documentation and corrective action using Field Observation Reports. Maintains Job Cost and Schedule statistics and prepares regular dashboard reports. Plans and coordinates project related disruptive activities that impact operations. These include, but are not limited to, utility outages, noise, vibration, dust, etc. Disruptions are to be scheduled in accordance with approved policies. Completes projects by the Rules and Regulations governing hospital facilities as required by JCAHO, DFS, CMS, OSHA, State Health Department (DHSR), and local and state buiding and fire codes.
Qualifications:A four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent field of study with a minimum of 5 years practical experience in Healthcare construction related work Preferred: 10 years of experience managing healtcare renovations and health care new construction projects. Must have ability to multi-task and prioritize. Superior Communication & Organization skills required. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means & methods required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with & manage cross-functional teams is a must.
Experience with Project Management & Scheduling software programs and basic knowledge & understanding of MEP systems. Must have strong time management skills.
