The Mechanical Contracting Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical construction projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring safety, quality, and profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Lead mechanical construction projects from booking through closeout, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.

· Plan, analyze, and execute project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and system objectives.

· Coordinate with owners, other Brady business units, engineers, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and field support staff to ensure seamless project execution.

· Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and bill of materials; oversee pre-ordering of materials and equipment.

· Estimates and proposes and processes change orders

· Monitor field progress, conduct regular site visits and progress meetings, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.

· Manage installation practices for steam, water, and air systems; understand control sequences and system operations.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and all applicable federal, state, permitting requirements and other local laws.

· Maintain continuous communication with warehouse associates, construction superintendents and job foremen to coordinate manpower, materials, and subcontractor needs.

· Support field foremen by ensuring they are properly prepared to complete projects successfully.

· Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and clients. Maintain project punch list, meeting minutes, and other related tools.

· Foster strong relationships with clients, building owners, and other trades to ensure satisfaction and collaboration.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:


• Associate’s degree in construction, project management or related field from an accredited institution is preferred but not required

• 3+ years of construction project management experience OR 2+ years of related experience working in the commercial HVAC industry, sheet metal, piping or controls industry.

• Working knowledge of computer systems (including laptops and cell phones) and software systems such as Microsoft Office, basic AutoCAD, and estimating software

• Mechanical H1, H2 and/or H3 licensing is required within 12 months of employment.

• Ability to pass drug screening

• Ability to prove US employment eligibility

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

• Must be willing to regularly travel within Brady’s North Carolina territory

• Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed

This position works in a typical office environment with frequent visits to job sites, which include outdoor work and work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the job site visits, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
