Job Description:
Key responsibilities
Manage the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle. Manage the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle. Conduct daily diligence on vehicle safety checks and refrigeration unit on vehicle. Report any issues found on vehicle checks to line manager prior to despatch. Ensure vehicle is in temperature prior to loading. Delivery and collection of pharmaceutical consignments to addresses including GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, Wholesalers and Home Delivery Patients. Physical checking / scanning of all consignments at delivery point. Communication of all operational delays or delivery failures as soon as known to line manager Correct completion of EPOD/ driver manifest/collection/refusal paperwork. Managing the returns process of all consignments entering the local depot by scanning all consignments to the forwarding depots. Maintain the cleanliness of company vehicle provided to the driver. Maintain cleanliness of company uniform and ensure correct PPE is worn i.e. Safety shoes and Hi Viz vests. Ensure a clean driving license is maintained and communication of any new offences are reported. Driving long or short distances as per you planned schedule. Lifting and carrying of goods. Communicate any patient concerns i.e. Pharmacovigilance. “Clean driving license” is not required but all new penalties must be reported. When directed by a line manager, undertake any other task appropriate to the skills and responsibilities of a driver.
Accountability
Delivery of consignments on an accurate and timely basis ensuring the product stays within the required temperature range. Following of relevant procedures outlined in the current Standard Operating Procedures/Driver briefings. Report all accidents/breakdowns to the Team Leader/Depot Manager and follow recovery instructions as directed by local management. Ensure that road traffic laws/rules are observed.
Complexity
Must appreciate the need for maintaining confidentiality. Must be able to build effective working relationships with customer/clients. Must be able to build effective working relationship with Team Leader/Depot Manager
Knowledge
Communication skills Must be able to build effective working relationships with other departments i.e Customer Service and Team Leader/Depot Manager. Experience in multi drop deliveries with customer contact. Previous home and/or hospital delivery experience preferred.
