As a Content & Communications Specialist, you'll play a key role in sharing our mission, programs, and services through a variety of communication channels. From website updates to email campaigns, you'll help ensure our community stays informed, inspired, and engaged. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Content Creation & Editing

Write and edit engaging, on-brand copy for multiple platforms including website, social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and print materials. Adapt messaging for each channel while maintaining consistent tone and voice.

  • Website Management

Regularly update and maintain content on the YMCA website to ensure accuracy and relevance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep pages optimized, current, and aligned with marketing strategies.

  • Email & Newsletter Campaigns

Write, proofread, and schedule email communications, ensuring they are tailored to community needs and interests. Collect and upload distribution lists in partnership with internal teams.

  • Brand Alignment

Work closely with the marketing team to ensure all content reflects YMCA's mission, values, and brand guidelines.


The successful candidate will bring:

  • Experience in writing, editing, and content creation (nonprofit or community-focused experience preferred).
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an emphasis on clarity, tone, and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt content for multiple mediums (web, social, email, print).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with website content management systems (Drupal or WordPress a plus).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to connect with different audiences.
