Quilter Invest is a direct-to-consumer (D2C) investment platform designed to empower individuals starting their investment journey. As part of Quilter, a FTSE-250 wealth management company overseeing £126.63 billion in customer investments (as of August 2025), Quilter Invest aims to bridge the advice gap by offering digital guidance and seamless investment solutions. The platform supports customers with accessible tools and works with financial advisers to deliver tailored financial planning for long-term prosperity.

As Head of Product at Quilter Invest, you will spearhead the product strategy and execution for our D2C platform, driving growth, user engagement, and innovation in a rapidly evolving fintech landscape. This is a pivotal leadership role within a high-growth environment, reporting directly to the Commercial Director for Quilter Invest and collaborating closely with engineering, design, marketing, compliance, and commercial teams across the Quilter group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and Execute Product Vision and Strategy: Craft a long-term product roadmap aligned with Quilter Invest's mission to simplify investing and Quilter's broader objectives. To be best in class, you'll conduct in-depth market analysis and user research to ensure the platform evolves ahead of trends. Why? In fintech, a proactive strategy can increase user acquisition by 30-50% through differentiated offerings, positioning Quilter Invest as a market leader rather than a follower.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Oversee a team of product managers and analysts, fostering collaboration with engineering and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality releases on time. Best in class involves implementing agile methodologies with a focus on OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to measure impact. Why? Effective leadership reduces time-to-market by up to 40%, enabling rapid iteration in a regulatory-heavy environment like the UK's FCA framework, where compliance must be embedded without stifling innovation.
  • Drive User-Centric Innovation: Champion customer insights through A/B testing, analytics, and feedback loops to enhance user experience, from app usability to personalised investment recommendations. A best-in-class approach incorporates data science for predictive modelling, ensuring features like goal-based investing resonate with diverse demographics. Why? In D2C platforms, superior UX correlates with higher Net Promoter Scores (NPS > 70) and reduced churn, as users value intuitive tools that make complex decisions feel effortless, ultimately boosting lifetime value.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Integrate FCA requirements, data security (GDPR), and ethical AI practices into product development and implement and manage robust product governance processes to ensure good customer outcomes. Best in class means proactively auditing for vulnerabilities and building transparent features, such as clear fee structures. Why? Fintech scandals can erode trust overnight; robust compliance not only mitigates risks but enhances reputation, attracting risk-averse investors and supporting sustainable growth in a sector where 70% of users prioritise security.
  • Monitor Performance and Optimise: Utilise metrics like DAU/MAU ratios, conversion rates, and AUM growth to refine the product. A top-tier leader employs advanced analytics tools to identify bottlenecks and opportunities. Why? Data-driven decisions can improve ROI on product investments by 25%, ensuring resources are allocated to high-impact areas like mobile-first enhancements, which are critical for engaging younger UK demographics (18-35 years old, comprising 60% of D2C users).
  • Foster Partnerships and Ecosystem Integration: Collaborate with Quilter's ecosystem and external partners for integrations, such as payment gateways or third-party data providers. Best in class involves scouting for strategic alliances to expand offerings. Why? In an interconnected fintech world, partnerships can accelerate feature rollout and market penetration, driving competitive advantage in a crowded UK landscape.

About You

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record as a Head of Product or senior product leader in fintech, ideally within D2C investment or wealth management platforms, with externsive relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of UK financial regulations (FCA, PRA) and fintech trends, including digital transformation and behavioural economics in investing.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams, demonstrated by successful product launches that achieved measurable business outcomes
  • Expertise in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Figma, Amplitude) and methodologies (agile, lean), with a data-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing at executive levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is advantageous.
