Job Summary:
The Junior Marketing Specialist will work with the Director of Marketing to execute strategies which support the overall brand and communications strategy for Southwestern Baptist Theological (SWBTS) and Texas Baptist College (TBC). Responsibilities include consulting with departments to understand marketing and communications needs, managing social media, developing digital content, writing advertising copy, and delivering content to advertisers. The desired candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who is willing to learn new systems and tools quickly, with a basic working knowledge of branding principles and digital marketing and communications.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

Assist with the management of social media channels for SWBTS and TBC.

Identify and monitor key performance indicators for measuring the impact of social media campaigns and platform development. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.

Research and develop new digital tools and tactics to support the SWBTS marketing strategy, particularly on social media.

Write advertising copy and ensure ad content is delivered to advertisers.

Prioritize and manage projects, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Work creatively in a team-setting, learning new tools and systems as needed.

Perform other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.
Skills / Requirements

Willing to learn new tools and systems quickly.

Intermediate-level knowledge and understanding of industry standard social media platforms, their respective participants (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and how each platform can be leveraged to promote Southwestern Seminary in various scenarios.

Experience with Sprout Social preferred, but not required.

Effectively communicates verbally and in print.

Ability to foster supportive and collaborative relationships with peers, clients, partners, and seminary administration.

Possesses great ability to identify potential negative or crisis situations and, with discernment, apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues.

Highly relational with great attention to detail and organization.

Expectation to strive for personal and professional growth in leadership and general ministry effectiveness.
Qualifications / Education:
-
Possesses knowledge and experience in the tenets of marketing.

Proven creativity and documented immersion in social media.

Exhibits the ability to shift easily and effectively from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side of Return on Investments (ROIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Understands SWBTS culture, history, leadership, and branding.

Possesses a working knowledge of the content ecosystem relevant to Southwestern Seminary, Christian higher education, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.

The position does not supervise other staff.

The position reports to the Director of Marketing.
