Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Deputy Chief Clinical Officer (DCCO) provides Senior-level leadership and strategic oversight of Jefferson Center’s clinical service continuum. This includes direct supervision of Jefferson Center’s clinical programing to include/but not limited to services to youth and adults in outpatient, intensive, family, substance use disorder treatment, housing, crisis, levels of care and services to commercially insured population.
The Deputy Chief Clinical Officer ensures that clinical services are aligned with Jefferson Center’s mission, values, and strategic goals, and collaborates closely with the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) to integrate trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices across all programs. This position will strengthen cross-functional collaboration and support high-performing teams in delivering accessible and quality behavioral healthcare.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health field required.
- Clinical Licensure (LP, LCSW, LPC, LMFT) in good standing required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in behavioral health, including 5 years in community focused behavioral health treatment setting. A broad range of populations and service continuum experience preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical competence and understanding of behavioral health innovation, integration, and healthcare reform.
- Strong knowledge of clinical operations, regulatory compliance, federal and state laws and rules, as well as funding mechanisms for behavioral health, experience with CCBHC and PPS payment model preferred.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and implement strategic initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage and direct projects – conceptualize issues, develop pragmatic solutions, and facilitate input from key stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills to foster relationships within the organization and align with our value of One Jefferson Center.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with relevant computer applications, electronic health record systems and data systems.
Essential Duties:
- Provide senior leadership and supervision to all clinical service departments
- Serve as Acting Chief Clinical Officer in the absence of the COO
- Collaborate with the DCMO to ensure integration of medical and clinical services
- Champion trauma-informed care and embed specialized expertise (e.g., EMDR, DBT, CPP, TST, CBT, MI) across programs
- Lead implementation of productivity and outcome measures that motivate staff performance and ensure access to quality care
- Implement and adhere to best practices in client satisfaction, caregiver engagement, and provider satisfaction.
- Work with the DCMO and others to help ensure client and staff safety and positive clinical outcomes.
- Oversee transition to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) standards
- Ensure culturally responsive care is available and the principles are embedded in all agency clinical practices.
- Provide fiscal oversight and lead financial planning for clinical departments
- Represent Jefferson Center in regulatory reviews and strategic collaborations
- Participate in senior leadership meetings, strategic planning and special projects as assigned
- Research and vet evidence based programs, ensure clinical staff are properly trained and maintaining certifications where needed

- Support recruitment, retention, and professional development of clinical staff

Salary Range - $139,500 to $173,200* annually
Additional Salary Information*:
- The salary range above is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.*
- Salaries at Jefferson Center are calculated based on education level, licensure, years of experience, and internal equity amongst current JCMH staff.
