The Head Wardrobe shall be employed in all shows and events that require the use of the Wardrobe Department at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. Events include Broadway shows, corporate events, dance, comedy, and musical acts among others. The responsibilities include working with the Technical Director to ensure a safe running and supervising local crews, assigning crews, working with other stage departments to complete the needs of the show, Advancing Broadway shows, Day-of-Show Load In & Load Out, Run-of-Show. Must be a team player and work well with other departments.  This position earns $46.99/hour and receives benefits in accordance with STG's contract with IATSE locals 488 and 887.  We expect this position to start November 1, 2025.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Technical Director
• Manage & assist with all aspects of Wardrobe on Night-of-Show, from Load In through Load Out.
• May be required to run cues in a multitude of situations including working in low light, strobe, fog, and other limited visibility situations. They may be required to Lift, Carry, Push, Racks, Bins and other Wardrobe equipment. They may be required to twist, turn, squat, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time. They may be required to work in a loud and disorienting environment and stay rest in a kneeling position.
• Will be the primary contact for tours wardrobe needs depending on the needs of the show.
• Position is intermittent by nature. Shows with needs can be few and far between, however Broadway runs will require full time schedule (40 to 75hrs a week) Depending on individual show needs.
• Will oversee all Wardrobe employees and assign positions based on Skill and Union Provisions
• Ensures adherence to day schedule, breaks, manages crew and safe work environment.
• Maintains the stage area to provide a safe and clean work environment.
• Distribute and explain all wardrobe needs to other staff
• Assist with planning and execution of Venue Policies & Procedures
• Assist with New Hire paperwork and New Hire orientation.
• Will work with the Technical Director on advancing of shows, site surveys, suppling estimates, payroll, Maintenance schedule and other duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have working knowledge of theatrical fitting and repair of costumes including but not limited to laundry, stitching, fitting, major repair, hand sewing, shoe repair, etc.
• Must be able to work closely to and in performers personal space while dressing them.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Ability to work with a team in all aspects of interaction (House Crew, IATSE Crews, Road Crew, and Clients)
• Knowledge and ability to run a Broadway show and cues.
• Ability to work with the Technical Director with work duties and priorities.
• Ability to lead a crew of varying sizes.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities of a show and fluctuating schedule in a positive manner.
• Ability to Lift 30lbs unassisted
• Ability to carry loaded laundry basks up and down multiple flights of stairs repetitively
• Ability to work in a safe and predictable manner under stressful conditions and long hours.
• Ability to be proactive in work assignments and work independently.

Physical Requirements:

• This is an on-call as needed job function so there is never a set schedule or set number of hours worked per week, it varies depending on how busy the company is.

• The position is physical in nature and requires physical mobility including: balancing, bending, carrying, climbing, crawling, reaching, squatting, twisting, lifting up to 30 pounds alone, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds alone.

• Standing – >40% of time-
While performing essential duties. Standing is mostly dynamic and intermittent with walking. (Surface: varies – finished/unfinished concrete, gravel, earth, uneven terrain, linoleum, hardwood, plywood, carpet).

• Walking – >30 % of time-
While performing essential duties. (Surface: varies – finished/unfinished concrete, gravel, earth, uneven terrain, linoleum, hardwood, plywood, carpet).

• Sitting -> 30% of the time-
While Performing Essential duties: Advancing shows, paperwork, show prep, scheduling crews.
