JOB SUMMARY
Utilize the latest advancements and principles in air movement, controls, and materials to develop cutting edge ventilation products, technical product specifications and packaging. Design products with efficiency, vibration and acoustics tailored to designated agricultural markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead Design and development projects from initiation through product launch and production utilizing the latest advancements in aerodynamics, controls, and materials.
- Suggest new products or improvements to existing products based on research and feedback from product testing, market, sales, marketing and ownership.
- Conduct and analyze fan performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility and cost requirements of designs or applications.
- Ensure products meet applicable specifications regarding AMCA standards and governmental regulations.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with air movement, engineering design and performance specifications.
- Research, design and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, and systems for product applications and manufacturing processes.
- Assist production in establishing manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Drive innovation by applying new concepts to the industry/marketplace.
- Support manufacturing to implement new product processes and resolve product issues.
- Lead research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
- Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
- Create prototype drawings and follow them through the prototype runs, design rework, final runs, final BOMs, Routes and drawings.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop all product labeling information (brand recognition, product specs, and quality).
- Contribute in the creation of technical documentation, instructions and training materials.
- Develop test plans and conduct product testing and validation.
- Setup BOMs and routes in ERP system.
- Assist in Completion of New Item Request Forms and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) accurately and within specified time periods.
- Assist in researching market feasibility with the Marketing and Sales Department.
- Research Competitor’s products including benefits and features.
- Confer with Engineers and other personnel to create and implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.
- Assist to provide customer support for controls, electrical, and ventilation issues.
- Assist to maintain test chamber documentation, testing data and certification.
- Provide feedback to other engineers on customer problems and needs.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
