Position Overview

The Collateral Analyst is responsible for monitoring collateral for loans to ensure adequate collateralization of properties is maintained and the bank’s interests are protected.  This individual will review various collateral items for accuracy and completeness.  In addition, the Collateral Analyst will prepare and process collateral documentation.  This individual will provide support for internal and external customers and team members and must fully demonstrate the organization’s Unwavering Service Standards.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews collateral data input to the core banking system and makes appropriate updates as needed.
  • Reviews and forwards mortgages, UCC-Financial Statements, titles to appropriate vendors for recording with applicable entities.
  • Reviews and forwards insurance documentation as it applies to collateral for adequate coverage.
  • Prepares payoff requests, ensuring all appropriate fees and balances are disclosed to the customer. 
  • Prepares satisfaction pieces according to established procedures.

 Ancillary Duties

  • Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

 Education & Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year related experience normally required.
  • Familiarity with various types of loans preferred.
  • Banking experience strongly preferred.

Skill(s)

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; proficient organizational skills; moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; good interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate typing and PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word; loan processing; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory, and speaking skills.
