The Food and Beverage Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the service in the Food & Beverage Department. This position is also responsible for assisting the manager with training, motivating, and coaching the staff, and monitoring expenses and controlling labor costs.

Essential Functions

  • Train new associates, promote up-selling techniques, and monitor service quality and compliance with policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of all work and dining areas; oversee quality control of food and menu presentation. 
  • Address guest complaints and special requests professionally and escalate to management when necessary to ensure positive experiences. 
  • Maintain knowledge and enforcement of state liquor and food service laws, as well as company policies. 
  • Ensure clear communication between shifts for smooth operations and consistency. 
  • Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag usage. 
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions to stay aligned with company goals and improve team performance. 
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, 4 Keys service standards, brand guidelines, and safety and security procedures. 
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned by management. 

 

Skills and Abilities 

  • Understand and align with the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel. 
  • Prioritize tasks, work efficiently with limited supervision, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. 
  • Communicate effectively in the primary workplace language, demonstrating excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills. 
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, equipment handling, and compliance with required licenses or certifications. 
  • Work well under pressure and in challenging conditions, using good judgment to resolve problems, follow directions, and collaborate effectively as part of a team. 

 

Physical Requirements 

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently  
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests in-person and phone conversation 
  • Ability to bend and twist, push, and pull, stoop, and kneel
