Description
La Posada is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to assist with financial recordkeeping, transaction processing, and ensuring accurate accounting across various departments. In this role, you will support the finance team by performing clerical duties such as data entry, reconciling accounts, and assisting with payroll and invoice processing. Where you can make an impact:
- Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
- Reconcile daily cash deposits, credit card transactions, and other financial data to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain accurate financial records by entering and updating data in the accounting system.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports by gathering and organizing data from various departments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in billing or payments.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing process by preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Handle guest billing inquiries and assist with resolving discrepancies related to guest accounts.
- Assist with inventory counts and monitor stock levels for supplies related to accounting and financial operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial procedures are followed and accurate records are maintained.
Requirements
Education/Formal Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in accounting or finance preferred.
Experience:
- 1+ year of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in the hospitality or resort industry.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills to assist with financial discrepancies and inquiries.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and departments.
