Position Salary Range:  $59,000 - $79,000


What You’ll Do

As the HR Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting our dynamic biotechnology R&D and manufacturing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth HR operations, fostering a positive employee experience, and supporting our mission to advance scientific innovation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and bring a passion for people and process improvement.

  

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate job postings, screen resumes, and schedule interviews.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation sessions and documentation.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and support hiring managers.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records in HCM systems.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, inquiries, and billing and HCM reconciliations.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and company events.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions and professional development activities.
  • Help promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and scientific excellence.

Compliance & Policy Support

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist in updating and communicating HR policies and procedures.
  • Support internal audits and documentation for regulatory purposes.

Payroll Processing

  • Familiarity with payroll systems.
  • Ability to process payroll accurately and on time, including handling deductions, benefits contributions, and pay exceptions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries professionally. 

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. (Minimum work experience + 2 years will be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant HR-position work experience.
  • Proficient English language communication skills: speaking, writing, and reading & hearing comprehension.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HCM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

Preferred

  • Experience with biotech industry HR practices or scientific teams.
  • Knowledge of Washington State employment-related regulatory frameworks. (ESD, L&I, WA Paid Leave, etc.)
  • Experience with Paylocity’s HR, Payroll, and Time & Labor platforms.
