Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is a transformative leadership role, responsible for building and inspiring a high-performing team that delivers industry-leading service and installation experiences to our customers. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability in a dynamic and growing company. The Operations Manager is expected to provide the highest level of professionalism to customers and co-workers. The nature of the work requires accurate, quick decision-making, based on knowledge of pertinent information.

The Installation Department handles the installation, onboarding, and commissioning of a variety of systems. The Service Department repairs, tests and maintains a variety of systems to include intrusion, access control, digital surveillance and fire alarm systems. It is a diverse environment where the pace is fast, and the timeliness and quality of results is not compromised.

Position Responsibilities:

· Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.

· Providing guidance and direction to the Installation & Service Department employees, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.

· Manage expense budget for controlling resources and overseeing the spending of budgeted funds including labor, supplies, and training costs.

· Actively participate in the recruitment of new department team members.

· Manage training needs and requirements of staff.

· Conduct regularly scheduled departmental team meetings.

· Develop and execute clear goals and priorities, ensuring effective delegation and alignment of department activities.

· Lead the department to exceed customer satisfaction and operational performance targets through innovative problem solving and effective resource management.

· Collaborate closely with executive leadership and peers to drive company-wide initiatives and continuous improvement.

· Travel for the completion of jobs and other department responsibilities.

· Various projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

· IT & Networking experience

· Minimum of 5 years experience within the alarm industry

· Minimum of 3 years experience within fire alarm systems (Testing, Inspecting, Installing, Fire Code) (preferred)

· Minimum of 3 years of management experience

· Ability to read work plans

· Understanding of P&L and budgetary process

· Must have flexibility to travel as needed

· Possess valid driver license and acceptable driving history record

· Strong customer and client relations skills

· Proven track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams in a service-oriented environment.

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)

· Public Safety and Security: Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

· Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

· Problem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.

· Attention to Detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

· Communication: Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

· Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations

· Education and Training: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Knowledge of the technical side of installation in order to better instruct the technicians.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Installation and Service department staff reports to this role.
