Pay Grade: Manager 9
This position provides oversight and leadership for the Mathematics and Sciences programs as well as for general education courses provided by the Mathematics and Sciences Division.
Position Duties

* Collaborates with the Dean of Liberal Arts to meet the general and developmental education needs of all degree programs
* Provides oversight and ensures quality control for the Associate in Sciences degree as well as general education courses provided by the division
* Develops relevant institutionally effective success metrics for the division and oversees the development of faculty goals that contribute to the accomplishment of the division and College goals
* Assures internal and external collaboration and communication with students, other college service areas, system office, businesses and industries, community groups, university partners, and other external agencies that support the mission, goals, policies, and procedures of the College and Division
*Develops assessment plans for general education core competencies and student learning outcomes
Projects division needs and secures staff, supplies, equipment, and facilities through sound budget management and accountability
Manages the recruitment, selection, and orientation of division faculty and staff.
Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Mediates staff, faculty, and student grievances
Ensures that graduation requirements meet the CAA standards
Oversees STEM initiatives including undergraduate research
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage in an academic setting
Knowledge of College Transfer program and General Education assessment
Proficient with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel
Excellent human relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
Requirements:
Master's degree or higher in an area relevant to the curriculum areas of the course offerings for the Mathematics and Sciences division or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in one of the curriculum areas of the course offerings
A combination of five years of full-time post-secondary teaching and academic leadership
Preferences:
Community college teaching, administration, and supervision of faculty
