Help Us Find the People Who Make the Music!

At iRock School of Music, we believe music can change children’s lives, and our Band Coaches (rock and pop music teachers) make that happen in schools across the country every day.

We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for someone special to join our recruitment team. Could that be you?

As our new Band Coach Recruiter, you’ll play a key role in finding, assessing, and welcoming the talented musicians who make iRock such a great place to be. While your main focus will be recruiting Band Coaches, you may also support recruitment for other roles across the business as and when required.

This isn’t just a desk job, you’ll be out there meeting people, running assessments, and using your musical ear and people skills to spot future iRock stars.

What the Role Involves

  • Managing the recruitment process from start to finish: writing job ads, shortlisting, interviewing, and making offers
  • Leading structured In-Person Music Assessments (IPAs) with prospective Band Coaches to evaluate:
    • Musical proficiency across band instruments (drums, guitar, keyboard, vocals)
    • Teaching potential and ability to inspire primary-aged children
    • Stage presence, communication skills, and rapport with children
    • Understanding of child safeguarding practices
    • Assessing how well candidates align with iRocks culture and core values of being Fun, Inspiring, Supportive and Honest
  • Facilitating and attending assessment days across the UK, with regular travel to schools and recruitment hubs
  • Working closely with the Head of Operations and Regional Managers to meet staffing needs
  • Providing a friendly and efficient candidate journey from application through to onboarding
  • Coordinating onboarding activities and supporting new team members as they join
  • Meeting monthly recruitment targets such as timely IPAs, successful hires, and onboarding milestones
  • Using technology (e.g. ATS platforms, video interview tools) to streamline processes and improve candidate experience
  • Supporting recruitment for other iRock roles as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in recruitment, HR, or a coordination role
  • Strong musical ability and confidence in assessing drums, guitar, keyboard, and vocals
  • Understanding of effective teaching approaches, especially for primary-aged children
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A people person with a positive, proactive approach
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Someone who genuinely cares about doing things well and creating a great experience for others
  • Confidence using recruitment software and scheduling tools

What You’ll Get

  • A full-time, permanent role (Monday to Friday – no evenings or weekends!)
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Access to our Health & Wellbeing programme, including virtual GP, counselling, and discounted gym membership
  • A supportive, down-to-earth team culture
  • Opportunities to grow and develop within the company
  • Fantastic team events, including our annual iRock Conference
  • Recognition schemes and staff prizes (including the chance to win festival tickets!)
  • An employee referral bonus when you recommend someone who joins the team
