Job Goal:
As a leader in the Marketing Department, the Assistant Director of Business Development is a seasoned sales and marketing professional responsible for setting the strategy and planning for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for Region 4’s various products, services, and offerings.
The ideal candidate is also responsible for implementing sales and marketing strategies, including building relationships with potential clients and partners, identifying emerging markets and trends, and ultimately pursuing and closing new business opportunities.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, this position collaborates with other departments to reach sales goals. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on implementation of best practices to engage and increase our customer base.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field, MBA a plus
Experience:
- 5 years of sales or marketing experience
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience
- Lead generation and management experience
- Digital Marketing and Professional Marketer certifications, preferred

- Expertise in Microsoft 365, Canva, and project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, Wrike). Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress experience, preferred.
Major Responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities. Manage key client relationships with customers, partners, and vendors, and work to build new ones.
- Track emerging markets and trends. Identify and recommend new business opportunities. Including preparing sales forecasts, performing market share analysis, and preparing sales presentations, as well as reporting.
- Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions, driving revenue growth across the organization.
- Help shape the company’s long-term objectives and determine strategic business plans for how to meet them.
- Provide recommendations for product development and distribution and promotion strategies.
- Travel to vendor locations, conferences, and other locations.
- Collaborate with other departments, including instructional areas, marketing, and product development, to reach sales goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- In coordination with the department director, establish clear expectations, set goals, and provide regular feedback to promote accountability and performance improvement.
- In coordination with the department director, manage team workloads and project timelines to ensure priorities are met and deliverables are completed with high quality.
- Supervise and support assigned staff, including onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace.
- Ensure compliance with Region 4 policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal guidelines.

Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
