Job Summary
**This will be a limited appointment that will end 4-months from the date of hire
The SLP will assist the Principal Investigator in clinical research that focuses on the nature and treatment of communication impairments across the life course. Projects will include observational and language treatment studies.
The individual’s duties may include, but will not be limited to, supporting the studies by: performing research evaluations using non-standardized and standardized speech-language assessment tools; reporting test scores and results into databases and assuring data quality and integrity, reporting evaluation results to interdisciplinary team members, and providing contributions for participant classification into international diagnostic research criteria; administering standardized intervention protocols for speech-language treatment trials; rating and evaluating audiovisual recordings of previously collected speech and language samples and evaluations; contributing to maintenance of research databases and data stream; reporting study progress to research team; providing direct contributions to programming studies to meet experiment-specific needs.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $53.20 - $71.79 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in speech pathology, certificate of clinical competence in speech pathology awarded by the American Speech and Hearing Association, and two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of neuroanatomy
- Experience working with children with communication difficulties and adults with Primary Progressive Aphasia
- Demonstrated proficiency with medical terminology
- Ability to abstract data from medical records and transfer it to data collection forms or directly into databases
