Interim Director of Development & Transformation

Location: West Drayton, West London
Salary: £95,000 to £119,000 per annum

West London Waste Authority (WLWA) is seeking an inspiring Director of Development & Transformation to lead innovative programmes that deliver Net Zero, embed the Circular Economy, and drive system-wide change across six West London boroughs.

This pivotal role carries responsibility for £2m revenue and £9m capital budgets, overseeing transformation, development, management information, and innovation portfolios. The Director will spearhead delivery of circular economy hubs, carbon reduction strategies, and cutting-edge digital reporting systems, ensuring WLWA is recognised regionally and nationally as a leader in sustainability and change.

Reporting to the Managing Director and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will collaborate with borough leaders, technical officers, and partners to co-design ambitious programmes. You will also lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring evidence-based decisions, robust governance, and measurable financial, carbon and service outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring substantial leadership and programme management experience, strong commercial and financial acumen, and demonstrable expertise in transformation, sustainability or circular economy delivery. Experience managing large-scale change programmes, working with multiple stakeholders, and overseeing MI/reporting functions is essential.
