The Women’s Health Nurse Clinical Manager has the responsibility and accountability for providing leadership and the direct supervision of the clinical staff as well as coordinating all the clinical operations of the health center such as patient care, quality management, risk management, compliance, adherence to Tampa Family Health Centers (TFHC) policy and procedures, staff support, and clinical coordination with other departments.
Essential Duties & Functions
- This role involves managing nursing and clinical support staff, coordinating with healthcare providers, implementing policies and procedures, and promoting patient-centered care for TFHC Women’s Care.
- Supervise and support Women’s Health Nurses, Women's Health Navigators, and Women's Health Medical Assistants.
- Maintains Women’s Health clinical workflows and standards in compliance with all federal state and regulatory bodies such as AAAHC, OSHA, NCQA and CMS.
- Oversee scheduling and daily staffing coordination with center clinical leaders.
- Manage onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for all Women’s Health clinical support staff.
- Oversee the externships for Sonographer and Medical Assistant students in Women's Care department.
- Manage inventory of procedure instruments, equipment, and OB/GYN-specific medical supplies.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the OB Due Date Report and Initial Postpartum Visit Completion Rate Report; cross-reference with the delivery hospital’s TFHC patient census and/or received reports.
- Coordinate with center clinical leaders for OB/GYN-related medications and long-acting reversible contraceptive devices (LARCs).
- Maintain appropriate PAR levels and oversee the device replacement process for failed insertions or defects
- Serve as the point of contact for equipment vendors, including servicing ultrasound machines, Trophon2, colposcopes (including Eva), procedure beds, and autoclaves
- Ensure compliance with Florida Prenatal Screen requirements per Florida Statutes 383.14.
- Performs chart reviews and enforces compliance with appropriate documentation, and workflow adherence for UDS collected data.
- Identify and promote professional development opportunities for staff.
- Conduct bi-annual competency evaluations for Women's Health nursing and clinical support staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor clinic performance and implement strategies for continuous quality improvement.
- Utilize patient recall lists, including those for no-shows, missed prenatal care, and overdue preventative care such as pap test, to target individuals requiring attention.
- Coordinate scheduling and provider utilization performance with the Women’s Health Practice Manager.
- Coordinates proper schedule and provider utilization of TFHC Women’s Care providers with Women’s Health Practice Manager.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between TFHC Women’s Care providers and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in interdepartmental meetings to coordinate care and share updates with other healthcare professionals.
- Travel between multiple women’s health sites is required to provide oversight, support, and ensure consistent implementation of care and operational standards.
- Ensure provider and staff task buckets are addressed accurately and timely.
- Manages the health centers budget by monitoring inventory control processes using a cost-effective approach while ensuring health centers are adequately stocked with all necessary supplies. Request authorization for purchases from supervisor and clinical leadership.
- Perform the responsibilities and duties of direct clinical staff as needed for coverage

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training (minimum requirements)
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required. MSN degree preferred.
- Current Florida license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Required Years of Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in women’s health or OB/GYN settings; two (2) years of supervisory experience highly preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and experience with inventory and equipment management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
