Job Description: The Clinical Instructor / Wound Care Clinician works under the administrative supervision and reports to the Director of Interprofessional Practice/Medical Services. The Clinical Instructor functions as an overall coordinator and resource person for nursing and other clinical employees. In collaboration with the Director of Interprofessional Practice/Medical Services, Directors, Managers and employees, the clinical instructor assists in determining clinical employee learning needs, develops, coordinates and delivers educational programming as appropriate. Providing education and support for the evidence-based assessment and treatment of wounds will be an additional focus of this position. The Clinical Instructor may be required to deliver training in a variety of settings, ranging from a formal classroom environment to point of care on a specific unit.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years current experience in acute care, mental health, or community nursing and/or in employee education is required
  • Previous experience in nursing education is required

Education

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
  • Must be eligible for and maintain registration with the SRNA

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Current CPR certification Basic Life Support
  • Certification as a wound care clinician from an accredited program (International Interprofessional Wound Care Course or Grand MacEwen's Wound Management Course)
