Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.
A bit about the role
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Children and Families Practitioner to support in a secondary school in the North of Glasgow offering family support to identified families. Our Practitioners work closely with the school to identify children, young people and families who would benefit from additional wellbeing / family support either within the school environment, local community or family home. Support can be on a 1:1 basis or in small groups and can vary on a daily basis depending on the needs of children and their families.
We work with schools to co-design the support, understand the priorities and needs within the school, home and local community and put in place the right interventions that will make a real difference. This is a vital part of our work. The key to our approach is the establishment of effective partnership working with school staff, pupils, families, and relevant agencies to agree and implement interventions that will help achieve agreed outcomes for all families.
