Opportunity Overview
You take an integrated and holistic approach to planning by collaborating with other internal subject matter experts and the client's external professional advisors (i.e. tax, legal and other advisors), and utilize all planning tools available to assist financial advisors and their clients with their complex planning needs to achieve their goals.
You are excited by the opportunity to engage clients with a broad range of complex estate protection needs. You can offer strategic insurance solutions for clients in a variety of planning areas including intergenerational wealth transfer, equalization of estate interests in dynamic family and family business situations, philanthropic planning, corporate wealth transfer, and domestic tax planning.

Position Requirements
- Valid provincial insurance license. A CFP designation (or willingness to obtain within twenty-four months of hire) is required. CLU designation is desirable.
- Advanced technical knowledge of life & living benefits insurance products, concepts and regulatory issues.
- Expert knowledge of the investment and insurance industry.
- Strong communication, listening and presentation skills and the ability to tailor communication style to FAs, BOAs, clients, centers of influence and product partners.
Desired:
- Professional designations such as CLU , CPA, LLP, TEP, JD considered an asset
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- Estate and/or tax courses
- Strong understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process: retirement planning, cash flow planning, investment planning, tax planning, estate planning and protection planning
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting and financial planning software tools (ie. Conquest).
- The ability to collaborate well within a team environment.
- 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry preferred with experience presenting large insurance cases ($25,000+ in premium) to advisors and clients.
Current home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
