Position Summary | The LLSS Department invites applications for an Assistant Professor position to become part of the Educational Thought and Sociocultural Studies (ETSS) program. The candidate’s research and teaching experience will reflect preparation in educational foundations, and indicate a specialization in Black/Africana Studies in education, as well as familiarity with Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, and Globalization Education. The successful candidate will have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. in Educational Foundations, Black/Africana Studies, or related fields before Fall 2026. The successful candidate will have a reduced course load for two years, before assuming a full course load (2/2) at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including educational foundations content courses (e.g., Decolonial Thinking, Feminist Epistemologies, Paulo Freire, Critical Race Theory, Globalization and Education, Sociology of Education), LLSS core curriculum (e.g., Seminar in Educational Studies and Dissertation Seminar), and preservice educator preparation courses (e.g., School and Society, Teaching Secondary Social Studies, and Secondary Social Studies Methods, Foundations of Anti-Racist Pedagogy). |
