The Information Security Cloud Engineer is responsible for safeguarding our cloud infrastructure, within the broader information security operations and defenses, reporting to the information security director. They will assist the information security team with identifying risks related to physical security, information security, and personal computer practices to help protect sensitive information.

This full-time position is primarily work from home and can be based out of one of our four campuses. Candidate must reside within commuting distance of campus. This position is remote however may need to go into the office to attend mandatory meetings, required training or cultural events as needed.

Primary responsibilities include:

Analyze and review information security controls including physical and data security protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems data. 

• Develop and implement secure cloud architectures for cloud environments and document within the overall information security program. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide expertise and support to IT and development on identity and access management (IAM) to cloud resources. Monitor and review user access privileges, as well as, authentication and authorization processes. 
• Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and guidelines concerning requirements for the physical and information security program to include testing, documentation and process improvement.
• Assist in the monitoring of systems designed to protect the physical assets, applications, data and databases from unauthorized users both within and outside the organization. Identify potential threats and responds to reported security violations to determine causes, possible solutions and remedial actions required to ensure data security.
• Assist business continuity administrator in establishing effective business resiliency guidelines, procedures and controls for Vizo Financial’s and MY CU Services cloud environments to be included within the enterprise-wide business continuity programs.
• Assist information security efforts to provide support to IT management and staff on information security threat risk assessments, in development, testing and the implementation of appropriate information security procedures and control designed to prevent, minimize or recover from incidents or events.
• Assist in the review of cloud vulnerability assessments and prepare deliverables to the Board approved committees as needed.
• Participate in the corporate wide security assessment process.
• Assist in the coordination of security projects related to the regulators, internal audits and other third-party reviews to ensure timely correction of observations/findings.
• Serve as a member of the technology committee.
• Serve as a member of the risk management committee; responsible for delivering results of operational risk assessments, mitigation tracking information, and testing results to the committee for review.
• Serves as a member of the change management committee; responsible for the information security review of the proposed change management request prior to being submitted to the committee for review.
• Serve as a member of the incident response team (IRT); could be responsible for the investigation, documentation, communication and/or risk mitigation tracking of the incident.

Seeking candidates with:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related technology discipline; or five to eight years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Cloud Security Alliance Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CSA CCSK) or applicable industry security certification preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as: Azure, AWS, etc.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking - Strong analytical abilities to interpret data, recognize patterns, and derive actionable insights for security improvements.
• Communication - Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, explain complex security issues, and present recommendations.

Salary Range: Starting at $93,500k

Travel requirements

Some travel is required with this position. Travel may be out of state and/or require flying. The employee may be required to drive a vehicle to and from credit union locations OR between campus'.
