WATG is hiring a Senior Business Strategy Analyst for our office in Los Angeles, London or US Remote location.

The WATG Global Research studio supports the growth of the firm, while partnering with leadership to explore new, industry-shifting ideas in hospitality and adjacent industries. ROLE
The Senior Business Strategy Analyst partners with firm leadership to drive business planning and growth. As part of our global Research studio, you will play a pivotal role in shaping WATG’s strategic direction by conducting market research and data-driven analysis. In tracking real estate trends, synthesizing market intelligence, and delivering clear reporting, you will create actionable insights that inform strategic business decisions.
As the Senior Business Strategy Analyst, you will apply analytical rigor and structured problem-solving to assist leaders in building strategic plans and collaborate across the business to track enterprise goals. You will lead cross-functional projects to advance business initiatives and play a key role in supporting high-impact planning sessions with firm and business development leadership. This position reports directly to the Research Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Orchestrates the market research and business strategy for the annual business planning process that is instrumental in producing market and client strategies for each region globally
- Facilitates planning sessions, quarterly business reviews, and leadership workshops with pre-reads, options, and clear decision frameworks
- Partners with business development leads to segment clients, size addressable markets, and shape regional go-to-market plays
- Conducts ongoing market scans and real estate data analysis across new and existing WATG markets in hospitality, mixed-use, senior living, and gaming + entertainment; synthesize operator/brand dynamics, demand drivers, and development pipelines into concise outlooks
- Integrates internal project/CRM data with external sources to identify trends, white-space opportunities
- Monitors and reports on hospitality trends, consumer preferences, and strategic tourism investments in global markets
- Develops and executes a process for creating regular market reports and author research to include written analysis, statistics and market activity
- Builds strategic narratives and communicate insights through crisp reports, decks, and visualizations that clearly articulate options, trade-offs, and recommendations
- Presents findings to studio leaders, regional Managing Directors, and executives; follow through to ensure alignment and adoption
- Occasional travel required (up to 15%)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Real Estate, Urban Economics, Tourism, or related field; Master’s/MBA a plus
- Minimum of 6 years in business/market strategy, strategic insights, consulting, or real estate analytics within AEC, hospitality, or adjacent professional services
- A background in real estate, hotel development, or consulting
- Adept at market research, specifically economic data and hospitality industry metrics
- Knowledge in creating, structing, and delivering accurate market research*
- Advanced Excel (modeling) and data visualization (Power BI or Tableau)
- Excellent organizational skills and coordination of project administration and internal corporate support
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- A passion for leisure and tourism and a solid understanding of the hospitality sector
- Well-travelled with a broad understanding of geography, economics, and global affairs

JOB INFORMATION
Salary range: $110,000 - $135,000 per year
