We are looking for a Project Engineer at our Tonawanda, NY location to support the Hebeler-Howard Marten (HHM) division. This full-time, exempt position is responsible for the coordination and completion of assigned engineering projects including analyzing customer requirements for equipment selection. Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Some remote work is possible.
Responsibilities
- Aid in project administration from beginning to end.
- Complete/support completion of cost estimates for new opportunities and sales efforts.
- Analyze customer project requirements and communicate to engineering and production.
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
- Single point of accountability to oversee, direct and manage deliverables of projects to customer from end to end of project.
- Collaborate with vendors/suppliers on pricing, productivity ideas and material substitutions.
- Approve vendor/supplier deviations.
- Create Design Change Notice(s) (DCN) for customer driven scope changes to internal teams.
- Track project scope changes and communicate costs to customers for review/approval.
- Work with Syteline ERP System or other manufacturing software to create /load part numbers and material routings, update job information and pricing as requirements change.
- Act as liaison between CPEG customers and all departments within CPEG.
- Facilitate internal Design Review meeting with Engineering & Designers to review compliance with customer requirements.
- Review & Share Product Improvement Trackers (PIT Sheets) to Engineering and Design Teams.
- Facilitate and Schedule Project Kickoff meetings with internal teams.
- Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects or services.
- Submit cost savings ideas (internal and externally).
- Meet with existing and potential customers.
- Supporting the Customer Service team, where applicable.
- Writing and follow-up of non-conformity reports & MRRs where applicable.
- Represent the customer (point of customer) during design & fabrication of projects.
- Support customer and 3rd party witness points / inspections at CPEG facilities.
Requirements
- Associates degree required in Engineering, project management or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) to four (4) years’ verifiable experience in the field or in a related area.
- Able to travel to Canada to facilitate work on projects manufactured in that location
- Design skills, familiarity with CAD, NX or Inventor
- Awareness of manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully met.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work cooperatively with other project team members as well as customers;
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat and Windows.
- Able to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Able to understand proper handling of all paperwork required in department, including reporting of time
- Able to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions
- Able to function and concentrate in a busy, noisy environment
