Ridgefield Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our IT Dept in a K-12 public school system. Candidate will work with other computer technicians as well as the network team to ensure district technology reliability and uptime. The Candidate will be responsible for supporting a diverse inventory of computer systems including PCs, MACs, and Chromebooks. Responsibilities will include everything from fixing devices, managing user accounts/platforms, and installing network equipment. The Candidate will have to address the needs of children, staff, and/or parents in a positive and caring manner. Directly reports to the District IT Supervisor and Helpdesk Coordinator.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Install, configure, troubleshoot and repair all aspects of technology in a LAN/WAN environment.
Use a helpdesk ticketing system to respond to user issues.
Work with colleagues and vendors to install equipment throughout the district.
Administrative tasks regarding windows desktops, Chromebooks, and telephone systems (VoIP). This includes and is not limited to managing user databases, deploying network equipment, administrative tasks regarding camera security systems, and troubleshooting other related issues.
Other tasks as defined by the District IT Supervisor or Helpdesk Coordinator.
Preferred Requirements:
A degree in a computer science field or 3-4 years of relative work experience.
Previous experience in providing technical support and training to educators in a K-12 environment.
Excellent service and communication skills.
Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must work well with a team, but can also work independently.
Must be detail oriented.
Ability to document processes and procedures accurately and thoroughly.
Must be able to set priorities in a high trust environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Network+, A+ certifications preferred.
Experience with MAC/iOS devices and Chromebooks.
Experience managing users and policies in G-Suite. Google Admin Certification is a plus.
Districtwide - 12 month position
Base Starting Salary: 60k-65k dependent on experience and/or qualification
Retirement benefit: Participation in the Ridgefield Board of Education Defined Contribution Retirement Savings Plan (403b), with employer 5% match.
