Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Resource Services (Director); the Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for the production of quality, culturally appropriate/relevant resources and support materials (in all official languages (as required) to enable the Department to effectively deliver its services to students, the Public, and other internal and external audiences. In so doing, the position assumes the critical role of overseeing and managing all phases of material/resource design, development, production, distribution, and evaluation (with a view identifying opportunities to improve utility and enhance applicability) The Senior Project Coordinator is one of the Departments experts on material/resource development and; thus, provides critical supports/services to all departmental staff as they contribute subject matter expertise to develop material/resources in order to be better achieve their strategic objectives.

The Resource Services Division supports the entire Department (e.g. Headquarters, School Operations, schools, advanced education programs, early learning and childcare programs, French education programs, etc.) to mee its resource and materials needs. As a core member of the Divisions team, the incumbent contributes to achieving this objective by leading project teams.

Qualifications

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized college diploma in Media Studies, Business, Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing or related field. 3 years’ experience in media/publishing, program/resource development and implementation including 1 year supervisor experience.  

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
