JOB SUMMARY:

The Robert B. Willumstad School of Business invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the department of management starting Fall 2026.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The successful applicant will teach three courses (9 credits) each semester at the graduate and undergraduate level at the School’s campus in Garden City on Long Island, New York, at the Manhattan Center in midtown New York City, and other off-campus locations.

  2. Teaching assignments in the School may occur during the day, evening, night and/or on weekends and in a variety of formats including on-line, blended, and face-to-face.

  3. The programs at the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business are AACSB-accredited and applicants must maintain Scholarly-Academic status by publishing in their area of expertise in refereed journals.

  4. Faculty members participate in course, curriculum, and program development, advise students and provide career guidance, and actively engage in department, school, and university service activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. PhD or DBA in management/business administration or related field with specialization in Strategic Management with related field in digital transformation, technology and innovation, or AI related to management from an accredited university.

  2. The successful candidate should be able to teach a wide range of courses in management (e.g., Strategic Management, Business Policy and Strategy, Management of Technology).

  3. Candidates with ABD status who are on track to receive their degree by August 2026 may also apply.

  4. A demonstrated record of excellent teaching at the University level as shown by course evaluations and a record of or potential for scholarly publications are required.

  5. Ability to successfully teach and relate to a diverse, international student body is essential.

  6. Training and/or experience in data analytics/digital management is highly desirable as is professional experience in the business world including creating and managing one’s own business.

SALARY INFORMATION:

In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $131,500 - $137,500. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.
