Summary/Objective
The Painter performs various tasks to prepare and paint environmental test chambers or their components.
60% of time is spent on preparation and inspection. 40% of time is spent painting.
Essential Functions

- Aid in the Continuous Improvement of the paint process helping to create work instructions and improve workflow.
- Set up and maintain spray equipment.
- Evaluate and inspect surfaces and prepare areas using techniques such as cleaning, masking, using tools to disassemble product, sanding, grinding, etc.
- Paint equipment using high volume/low pressure (HVLP) sprayer.
- Able to achieve multiple finishes using spray equipment.
- Inspect finishes for conformity to manufacturing prints and departmental quality requirements.
- Coordinate projects based on project requirements and time restrictions.
- Maintain a safe environment, following all safety standards and procedures.
- Contribute to the quality control of the project and meet deadlines.
- Maintains department work area in neat and orderly condition.

Required Education and Experience
- Ability to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.
- A minimum of two (2) years industrial, commercial, or automotive painting experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five (5) or more years of industrial painting experience
- Experience with powder coat a plus
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly exposed to vibration, changes in temperature, dust or odors from materials being used, and a moderately loud noise level. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, frequently using power or other tools, and occasionally may work in a confined environment.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and use ladders and lifts on a regular basis.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary: $25.00 to $31.00 per hour
