Job Purpose
Responsible for providing evaluation and treatment for children and families in the Day Treatment Program for the purpose of helping clients remain in the school, community and in the home. Therapists will facilitate therapeutic activities based on the person-centered care plan.
QualificationS
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related Field.
- Must have all necessary course work and meet all the requirements to be licensed within the State of Missouri, at a minimum be eligible to begin supervision.
Core Job Duties
- Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions with assigned clients’ and their family.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to determine appropriate level of care.
- Provide crisis intervention, develop/review safety plan, and conduct risk assessment for client/family as needed.
- Intervene in behavioral health situations when needed, to include restraint according to CPI guidelines.
- Work with integrated treatment team to include psychiatrist, therapist, care coordinator and school staff to coordinate care.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding needs, behaviors, etc. of clients.
- Provide weekly reports in staffing about referrals, new admissions and therapeutic services that require team advice.
- Development of the individualized recovery care plan for assigned consumers with SMART goals, objectives, and interventions.
- Discharge/Transition/Aftercare Summary completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide training to treatment team on Evidence-Based Practice models.
- Work alongside school staff to meet the needs of the clients enrolled in Youth Day Treatment.
- Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
