Job Summary
Provide clinical laboratory coordination, support, and oversight to Benton County Health Department as well as the Community Health Centers of Benton and Linn Counties. Responsible for all elements of the clinical laboratory operations from point of patient reception, specimen collection, specimen processing, staff training, staff education, and reporting. Responsible for ensuring that the laboratory adheres to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, FQHC, and OHA requirements and standards.

  • Annual salary range of:
    • $58,925 - $85,005
    • This position guarantees two salary raises within your first year. Increases are given at the end of the 6 month probationary period and at the 1 year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
    • For most employees who take advantage of health benefits the salary only makes up 60% of their total compensation. The County invests in you and your family!

Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Associate's degree or 2 year technical degree in a field related to the assignment; AND
  • 5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 1 year of laboratory field and/or equivalent clinical experience.

Special Requirements:
  • Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license or ability to obtain upon hire. This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle. 
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience with point of patient reception 
  • Experience with specimen collection, specimen processing 
  • Experience with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, FQHC, and OHA requirements and standards 
  • Experience managing a laboratory
  • Supervisory experience and staff training
