The Computer Resource Technician position is responsible for the daily activities of the Help Desk. Taking Help Desk calls, providing technical phone support, remote desktop technical support, triaging the Help Desk request, basic computer maintenance and repair, computer replacements, software installation and end user support, operation activities such as backups, and fieldwork to support varying technical needs of the employees and students on campus. You will work as part of a project team. You will be empowered to develop a depth and breadth of technical and communication skill sets. This position reports to the Computer Resource Specialists and the Network Security Manager. This position is a maximum of 25 hours per week with flexibility required for evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent; strong computer hardware/software technical skills and excellent customer service skills; must be well organized and able to work effectively and cooperatively with individuals at all levels across campus; and must have a desire to learn and grow professionally in depth and breadth of knowledge essential.
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate degree in appropriate related field preferred. Technical support skills in the Microsoft Windows operating system environment. Technical support skills in the Apple Macintosh hardware/software environment. Experience utilizing a Help Desk management application. Remote desktop support. Technical phone support. Computer Room operations including backup/restore services. Technical/Operational support for mobile devices, including tablets, iPods, iPads, and other mobile devices. Technical support skills with Dell desktop/laptop hardware. Software support including installation skills with Microsoft Office, McAfee antivirus, web browsers, etc.
