JOB ANNOUCEMENT:

Join our team in Lake Havasu City as a Laboratory Technician! The Laboratory Technician position requires intermediate-level lab work which includes physically collecting, analyzing, and interpreting results from water, wastewater, surface water, and groundwater locations. This job is important to ensure that public safety and health standards are upheld, and that water and wastewater standards are met. All work is performed under supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collects, receives, prepares, performs, and analyzes chemical, bacteriological, and physical tests on all types of water and wastewater samples.
  • Conduct chemical, bacteriological, physical testing, and quality control procedures
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment
  • Interpret permits or regulatory documents (if applicable) and ensure compliance with state/federal standards
  • Keep accurate logs, records, and reports of test results and lab activities
  • Adhere to safety protocols (OSHA, lab safety, hazardous materials, etc.)

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A Detail-Oriented individual who possesses strong work attributes in multitasking, neatness, and teamwork.
  • Must be able to interpret the Arizona Department of Health Services and EPA testing guidelines.
  • Follow safety regulations and possess good lab practices.
  • Knowledge in Chemistry or Laboratory Sciences
  • Knowledge in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and laboratory testing methods required.

MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s/Technical degree with coursework (minimum of six (6) credit hours) in chemistry and/or twelve (12) credit hours of college level laboratory sciences
  • 3 to 5 years in a laboratory environment collecting and analyzing samples, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of Grade II Wastewater Treatment Certification issued by the Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) at hire.
  •  Valid driver license required.

The selected candidate who does not possess the required certification will be considered a trainee at the time of hire.
