POSITION SUMMARY
The Principal Architect plays a crucial role in bridging technology, business, and customer interactions within an organization. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of both the technical landscape and day-to-day business operations to design effective solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate architectural knowledge across all areas of IT especially data, cloud, application, and security architecture
- Participate in IT strategic planning along with senior IT leadership
- Lead architectural activities including proof of concepts, solution design sessions, code and/or configuration reviews
- Lead the technical portion of software procurement and participate in ongoing evaluation of existing software
- Demonstrate expert level knowledge of Azure capabilities and have a proven track record in successfully using cloud technologies
- Be a great communicator and translator of technical concepts to business lines. Help non-technical people understand technical concepts and how technology can be used for business efficiencies.
- Maintain architectural diagrams of critical infrastructure, applications, and data flows
- Provide technical mentorship to emerging engineers and architects
- Work with vendors and 3rd parties to establish secure B2B interconnectivity at both application and networking levels
- Keep apprised of current and emerging technologies
- Work with IT teams to establish, maintain, and refresh the development tech stack
- Partner with business lines to maximize usage and evaluate new features for critical business applications
- Provide architectural oversight for the execution of Sunrise’s public-facing technology strategy
- Own and maintain architecture governance standards and procedures
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience and success in systems engineering and software architecture design.
- Financial Services core technologies (Fiserv) preferred
- Experience with PCI requirements preferred
- Experience with public-facing architecture or development required
- Expert level knowledge in Microsoft Technology Stack, including the Microsoft Azure Cloud ecosystem
- 10+ year experience in IT architecture, enterprise infrastructure with specific experience in cloud-based systems development, deployment and cloud security
- Ability to solve complex problems applying creativity, innovation, and technical concepts.
- Ability to work in a cooperative team environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Annual salary range DOQ: $120,780 - $172,543 - $224,306
