The Experiential Marketing team at Verisk is passionate about creating meaningful brand experiences. Whether leading a Verisk-hosted event or conference, designing immersive office activations, or piloting innovative experiential technologies, this team plays a critical role in advancing Verisk’s brand and business goals.

As a Sr. Specialist, Experiential Marketing, you will support both the operational and project management functions of the team and serve as a hands-on lead for key events. You bring experience in event planning and execution, project management, data-driven event analytics, and executive communications. You’ll collaborate closely with leaders across Marketing and the Extreme Events business unit.
 

This role is based in Boston with an in-office presence of 2 days per week, and additional days as needed to support office events. Ability to travel up to 20% and work overtime or irregular hours as needed to support business needs.

Event Planning & Execution (~60%)

Based in the Boston office, you will lead and support internal and client-facing event initiatives, including:

  • An annual 400-person internal kick-off event

  • Monthly town halls and employee engagement activities (e.g., happy hours, holiday celebrations)

  • Local client events, Verisk’s capstone event (VIC-US), and industry tradeshows

You will coordinate all event logistics including catering, room setup, AV coordination, vendor management, transportation, and overall event project management. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for Boston-based events, ensuring alignment with company culture and employee experience goals.

Event Contract Operations (~40%)

As part of a collaborative team, you will help manage the operational aspects of event contracting, including:

  • Leading and supporting the development and execution of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for event vendors and venues

  • Managing the end-to-end review and approval process for more than 50 event contracts

  • Ensuring all contracts comply with procurement policies, budgetary guidelines, and legal standards

  • Partnering with legal, finance, and procurement teams to mitigate risk, negotiate favorable terms, and optimize vendor relationships

  • Maintaining organized documentation and tracking systems to support contract lifecycle management, reporting, and audit readiness

 

Additional Responsibilities

Cross-Team Collaboration & Learning

  • Participate in special projects across the Experiential Marketing function, including operations, strategy, and logistics

  • Attend planning meetings and cross-functional check-ins to gain exposure to integrated marketing and shared services teams

  • Learn and apply best practices in project management, event operations, and marketing strategy

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve team efficiency

  • Contribute ideas and feedback to evolve internal systems and workflows

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in events, marketing, communications, business, or related field

  • Minimum 4 years of event experience

  • 1+ years of project management experience, preferably within events or marketing

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and project management tools (e.g., Workfront)

  • Experience with invoice processing, purchase orders, and credit card reconciliation

  • Comfortable managing budgets, tracking expenses, and preparing reports
