The Job:
As a FNO Assurance Engineer you will work on network build activites reporting into the Fibre Network Manager within you respective working area. Your experience will be used to oversee and assure pre-build and in-flight build activites. You’ll be someone who is able to champion network quality and compliance to ensure that our partners are carrying out operations to specification and adhering to the programme.
On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for the checking completed plans, identifying any risks on the programme, oversee fibre network build activities, complete audits, liaise with the public as required, work with internal and external stakeholders and ensure as-built documents are completed as per the Netomnia process.
The Assurance Engineer is responsible for technically supporting the delivery of any network build activity. The Assurance Engineer role ensures field delivery operations, network operations, design requirements and amendements to the build team are all compliant for the benefit of the wider business. The Assurance Engineer will support their respective region with supplier management and reporting, including client liason, taking responsibility to provide delivery related solutions inline with Netomnia commercial commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day on-site build and other ad-hoc tasks as required to ensure safety and quality is achieved. Ad hoc activities may include, however are not limited to - JSV meetings, exchange readiness, surveys and support of wider Netomnia departments
- Manage TechM output for quality and accuracy, tracking responses and coaching for improvement. Undertaking TechM quality audits ensuring errors identified, logged and tracked.
- Undertaking of site visits addressing and managing performance of partners.
- Owning and managing the defect lifecycle. Ensuring quality output from TechM, CANDID management, 3rd party defects, network performance through proactive RX monitoring are rectified with evidence within the required SLA. Ensuring defect rectification evidence is validated and accepted as required.
- Ensuring all service credit events are captured and submitted to the commercial team for application.
- Champion health and safety across all build tasks and activities.
- Providing regular performance input for the region via 121 sessions
- Capturing, actioning and recording trends in quality through structured feedback with partners ensuring the best quality delivery possible. Provide feedback on underperformance of regional contractors as well as providing recognition of excellent output and delivery.
- Administration of quality strike log, ensuring discussions are logged.
- Attendance where absolutely required for MSO.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience of working with, and understanding of, fibre optic network build, structure as well as civil engineering requirements.

- Computer literacy, MS Office quick to learn new applications
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
